Murder Investigation on Drumdreenagh Road, Rathfriland

Commenting on the recent news that a possible murder investigation was taking place in a house on the Drumdreenagh Road, Rathfriland, Local Ulster Unionist Party MLA John McCallister has said that he was "very concerned about the revelations".

Mr McCallister who also lives in the Rathfriland area said

"After speaking to a number of nearby residents, I can only say that I share their deep concerns. I am stunned that something as sinister as this could happen in such an idyllic area of South Down.

"People of the area are shocked, scared and surprised. They are afraid of what might come next, or that those involved could return. My thoughts are also with the house owner, as this must be a very traumatic time for all involved"

"I know that there is a lot of speculation surrounding these events, which certainly don't help, and I am very concerned about these latest revelations. I just hope that the perpetrators of such an evil crime are caught quickly and brought to justice."
